What music do you guys play during ritual work, if you play any?

I used to practice in silence but now I have The nights of Alhambra CD by Lorreena Mckennitt and I play that quietly - or loading depending on what I'm doing (beltane dancing requires a loader more jolly volume Cheesy).

So what do you listen to?

I haven't really done any rituals yet but once when meditating I turned on some music. I'm not sure music with singing would distract me or not though...

all the best

I tend to find the panpipes or vocal harmonies the best for me.  I also meditate a lot to native american muic on CD, it works for me

It really depends on what I am doing, but I like to listen to the CDs with the nature sounds with like some light piano jazz in it. I really like the ones the have the sounds of water, particularly the ocean (I think that is funny since I am an earth sign. I think it gets back to my past lives as a pirate.). That is what I mostly listen to. Anything that would set a good meditative/ working mood.

I need to purchase some music. I listen to Loreena Mckennitt often in ritual now, but I want to put some drumming tracks on a CD to listen to aswell.

for doing meditation I have nature sounds going, for ritual if I am doing it alone I will usally use a drumming cd (native drumming I find id the best).

On a further speaking of music and chants one of the girls from our group I belong to in the city is going to teach all thouse who want to learn how to chant for rituals it should be pretty good.

For me it depends. I have a CD of wolves howling, which I love using when I am doing certain full moon spells and rituals. Apart from that...Secret Garden is someone I put on a lot, or something as simple as Leaves' Eyes...quietly, of course! And only certain songs...don't need the metal drums and guitar blasting when I am trying to meditate!
